Description
|
The questionnaire-based research was primarily focused on public perceptions of nanotechnology. It included aspects such as perceived risks, milestones, knowledge, attitudes toward nanobots, science-fiction hobbyism, utilitarian reasoning, and sensitivity to disgust. The data files available here contain raw responses, respondent-level validity screening results, processed CSV files in long format for individual questionnaire blocks, item reference tables, and a fully reproducible preprocessing pipeline in R. The research formed part of a project aimed at developing an ethical decision-support system for emergency situations in nanotechnology research and development. As part of the project, respondents also provided solutions to model ethical dilemmas related to the field. (2026-06)

Notes
| This is quantitative data from a questionnaire survey — anonymized respondent responses in a tabular format. The data are accompanied by a codebook and preparatory analytical syntax (R scripts), which were used to derive variables from the raw responses and create analytically prepared data. Formats: ○ Data: CSV (UTF-8, comma separator, missing value = empty string, logical values TRUE/FALSE). ○ Codebook and documentation: Markdown (convertible to PDF). ○ Analytical syntax: R / R Markdown. |
