Description
| This dataset contains data from an online interactive experimental survey conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on public attitudes towards epidemic countermeasures, the distribution of protective equipment, and ethical decision-making in the allocation of scarce healthcare resources. The survey employed a range of tasks and stimuli, including: assessment of schematic face drawings for perceived infection risk and respiratory protection use; ranking of non-pharmacological epidemic measures by perceived effectiveness; ethical evaluation of price increases on scarce protective goods; selection of population groups with priority entitlement to publicly funded respirators; ten forced-choice triage scenarios involving patient prioritization; and ethical assessment of two policies for allocating ventilators. Additional demographic and background data were collected, including political orientation, religiosity, pandemic experience, compliance with measures, and volunteer activity. Upon completion, participants gained access to an online application allowing them to compare selected responses with those of other participants. Participation was voluntary, online, and anonymous. The dataset comprises quantitative data from a Czech population sample and is suitable for analyses of public moral reasoning, risk perception, and distributive justice in health crises. " The dataset contains 1,167 valid respondents (out of 1,255 in the raw export; 1,185 eligible). (2026-07) |

Characteristic of Sources
| Anonymisation process: No direct identifiers. No names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or IP addresses were collected or are present. The `id` column is an opaque, internally generated code with no key to any real person in this deposit. Free-text review and redaction. Every free-text field (profession / religion / volunteering write-ins, the Q5 "other group" write-in, and the end-of-survey comments) was passed through an automatic anonymization pass (e-mail/URL/phone regexes plus a committed substring map) and then a manual two-pass review; cells naming a rare re-identifying office, institution, or place were replaced with `[redacted]`. Comments are published as the anonymized Czech original (`comment_text`) plus an English machine translation (`comment_text_en`) so each comment is readable in both languages; the translation is automatic and not human-verified, and the Czech text is authoritative. The comments were reviewed line by line and their publication in this anonymized form was approved by the study's corresponding author; only that reviewed version is included here (no raw comment text). Disclosure control of quasi-identifiers. `age` is top-coded (≥70 → `70+`, ≤15 → `<16`); the Q2/Q6 absolute completion timestamps are published as elapsed `response_time_sec` (per set / per trial) rather than wall-clock time. Analyses needing exact age or absolute timestamps cannot be reproduced from this public file by design. See `codebook.md` → "Disclosure control & anonymization".
